Groups

Groups—Framework's robust group chats—are your community's space for more meaningful interaction. You can split your members into as many groups as you'd like—big or small— based on things like shared goals, age, gender, time zone, or anything else.

Creating a Group

Groups > + Create Group

After naming your group, you can toggle the "Public" setting to decide whether the group should be visible to everyone in your community or only visible to those who have been explicitly invited to it. To limit who can invite members to the group, toggle "Disable invites" to prevent non-admin members from inviting other members to the group.

To edit the name or the description of the group (or either of the above settings), click into your group and click Edit Group .

Group Settings and Info

Groups > Your Group

To view the list of members in a group, click into any group

To invite a new member to the group, click the three dot menu to the right of the group and click Invite to Group.

Creating Bookmarks

Member View >> DMs > Your Group >> Three Dot Menu >> Add Bookmark

You can also add a bookmark with the "Add Bookmark" button on the main chat screen.

If there are important resources for your group—links within Framework or external—you can create Bookmarks, which will populate at the top of your group chat.

Pinning Messages

When you hover over any message, you can click the three dot menu to pin any message. After a message has been pinned, it will live under the 📌 icon at the top right of your message!

Assigning Challenges

Groups > Group > Challenges >> + Assign Course

Once you've created a challenge, you can assign that challenge to a group within your community. To do this, click into your group, tab over to "Challenges," and click + Assign challenge. The group you have assigned to the challenge will then receive a message within their group inviting them to start the challenge, and the challenge will live as a bookmark within the group chat.

Assigning Events

Once you've created an event, you can assign that event to a group within your community. To do this, click the three dots to the right of the relevant event and click Assign event. Click Assign to the right of the relevant group. The group you have assigned to the event will then receive a notification and message within their group inviting them to the event.
